2. Format of Anvil CAD data
The following points should be noted when generating IGES files in Anvil or other CAD
system, to avoid problems during subsequent importation and manipulation in the GFM nesting
system.
- The 'IGES file transfer record' sheet should be completed to ensure tracability of all
IGES files used and additional files generated, during the subsequent stages of the nesting
process.
- A master data sheet for completion is available, in K:GFM Docs \ opsheets as:- '
Opmastr.xls '. After completion this should be renamed to reflect the part number, and
saved, i.e. for part no 116A5411-03, save as 5411-03, in the (Boeing) 737 folder.
- The patterns should not contain any open or overlapping lines.
- Text must be on layer...
- No shape info should be on layers 0 to 9, these are currently set as the excluded layers
for non-geometry info e.g. references, text etc.
- Each individual piece of material should be given a unique IGES file identity.
- Each ply must be digitised with its axis in the correct pre-preg weave orientation, as
per: 1/ the Engineering process sheet, 2/ the part drawing ply table.
- Ideally keep in imperial units, if this is not possible the units of the "In/outputfile"
field in the "General Pre-processor parameters" will need to be changed to metric.
- Iges file identities must contain the following characters only e.g. Bnnnnn.igs.
